Channel Update vs Source Feed Update

Last Updated: Apr 25, 2018 08:01PM CEST

There are two different types of updates that Shopping Feed performs in order to push the most up-to-date product data from your storefront over to channels/marketplaces.

Source Feed update is a call between your storefront and Shopping Feed. This is when we're pulling updated data from your storefront (Shopify, Magento, Prestashop) since the previous update. By default, we update your Source Feed 4-5 times a day automatically.

You can call for the Source Feed update manually if you ever wish to have the changes you made in your storefront reflect in your Shopping Feed account as soon as possible. You can do that by accessing Source Feed Page and clicking ‘Force Update’ button.

Channel Update happens once your automatic Source Feed update has been completed. Shopping Feed sends an update right back out to the channels/marketplaces where we are helping you list the products. We send an update with the information we just pulled from your storefront. This way, we can keep your listings in sync with the data that you have in your storefront.

There is also a possibility to make a manual call between Shopping Feed and your channels/marketplaces in case you want to send an update as soon as possible.
Go to your channel’s dashboard and hit the button up at the top-right corner of the page.

You can easily check the status of each update by clicking on a ‘Bell’ symbol at the top-right corner in Shopping Feed.
